Dear supporters of The Builder,

Here's a quick update on what's going on with The Builder these days:

• Steam: Both seasons are now approved for Steam release. If you haven't wishlisted the game yet, you can do so here: Season 1 | Season 2 The date I'm aiming for is March 3rd - as part of the Steam Visual Novel Fest. I hope the release will create a bit of a boom for the game. If things really go well, I have plans to bring more people onboard the project in order to increase the pace of development. From experience, this can be a two-edged sword, as I would spend more time following up other people's work rather than creating myself. Let's see how this goes.

• Season 1: I've added two more sequences to Season 1. An update to the season will be released here as soon as the Steam release is stable and running. The shot in this post shows a new character introduced on Thea's expanded thread (Thea is the personal assistant of Miss F, the big-chested entrepreneur behind the memorial - and the impregnation scheme).

• Season 2: In between these activities, I'm rendering Episode 10, the final episode of the season. As earlier mentioned, it will be a multi-path experience, with subtle (and not so subtle) variations between the different arches, depending on your initial choices.

• Agency: Some of you have commented that the MC is a bit passive during the first two seasons: His drive is towards the build and not towards seducing the women. In this I hear a wish to have him more aggressively pursuing his LI's. Two comments:
  • Season 3 will see a much more breeding-aggressive MC, as the true purpose of his presence in Fjorda becomes clear to him. This will be a major shift in his approach (he will still receive an offer or ten, but things will change nevertheless).
  • Adding material to the original two seasons will also introduce more agency. Remember that in the first two episodes, the MC still has his vow of chastity, which reduces his initiative somewhat, leaving it more to the women.
